My people, una don hear wetin dey happen for cocoa farm level? Cocoa farmers wey dey under Cocoa Farmers Association don send beta letter go President Bola Tinubu make e clear wetin dey happen with Cocoa Board Establishment bill.
Dem yarn say wetin dey worry dem be say since dem transmit the bill go National Assembly for November 2025, e just dey waka like ghost without any update. Na Adeola Adegoke, di National President of di Cocoa Farmers Association, wey drop di letter. Wetin dey bad be say, after di bill don read for House of Representatives on November 13, 2025, di presidency come carry am back the next day for amendments. But since dem withdraw am, wahala don start, no body don hear anything again!
As di farmers dey vex, dem talk say di long silence dey create serious uncertainty for di cocoa sector. Everybody dey wonder whether di bill dey go through some corrections or dem don throway am comot, or even abandon am. Dem even remind say di same bill go Senate on November 10, 2025, but as dem no talk anything again after Senate President Godswill Akpabio talk say dem go consider am later, di cocoa people don dey worry.
Di farmers don also talk say di confusion don dey plenty, especially as pipo dey shout say Cocoa Board don come back, when actually, e no dey operate yet. Dem no one hear any law wey don pass for di board, and dis one dey scatter all di plans wey dem get for cocoa sector. E no go better for farmers, processors, traders, and investors if dem no fit get support wey dem need. Cocoa Board suppose help regulate and develop di sector, but without am, dem no fit move forward.
Dem still dey call Tinubu make e shine eye on di bill, make e help am move forwaad quick-quick. Dem maintain say di Federal Government suppose show dem commitment to make di cocoa sector shine again. If e no work well, how Nigeria go fit compete with odas wey dey produce cocoa? Dem dey gree say na time to step up di game and ensure say Nigerians dey enjoy di benefits of better cocoa production.
