As e be now, security pipo don block di whole area, no trader fit enter or even open dem shop. Dem dey outside dey cry say dem dey lose millions of naira. Oga Chimezie wey dey sell general goods talk say in just one day e don lose over two million naira because of dis closure.

“I get supply wey I suppose do on Tuesday, but security pipo dey everywhere, no allow us enter. If dem fit provide dis kain security for Mondays, everybody for fit come do business,” he complain. E even mention say people wey try open shop for di past don face attack from jaguda pipo, and na why dem dey fear to open shop on Mondays.

Another trader don dey shout say e no go fit stay calm if na only Onitsha market wey dem dey block, but dem dey block all di street shops as well. E dey wonder why Oga Soludo no go close odas markets too, if no be say di market no dey safe. “If dem wan stop dis sit-at-home, dey should find beta way, make we no dey live in fear,” im talk.

Meanwhile, di Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, don dey try enforce order, ensure sey di security situation dey under control. But e no easy for di traders o, dem dey vex say dem feel say di government dey punish dem instead of helping dem.

As di protest don dey scatter di streets, traders don carry placards dey shout say ‘We no go gree!’ while dem dey chant songs wey dey hail Nnamdi Kanu, di leader of di Indigenous People of Biafra. Oga Soludo dey try manage di situation, say im no go allow dis things dey continue. “If you no open, we go take back di shops and give am to people wey wan do business,” im threaten. Dis talk don make many traders dey fear for dia business futures, as dem dey wonder wetin go happen next Monday.
