Na wah oh! As e be, Police Service Commission (PSC) don scatter ground with new promotions wey dem approve for police officers! E happen on January 29, 2026, wey dem hold their third plenary meeting. Na there dem promote one big man from AIG to DIG, e be Funsho Adegboye, plus two other Commissioners wen don become AIG. E sweet no be small for this people!
Dem talk say this promotion na big achievement wey dey show say hard work and proper examination matter for this country. The chair of PSC, DIG Hashimu Argungu (wey don retire), lead the meeting and confirm the promotions. No be play matter oh, dem check everything wey dem do like written exams and interviews before dem fit promote these officers, and e no fit be anybody wey no fit stand for anything wey dem measure.
Funsho Adegboye wey don promote to DIG, na correct person for the job! Before now, e dey handle Police Mobile Force for Abuja, and e don serve for plenty places wey get heavy responsibilities. E don see things for operations, training and administration, plus e don work for United Nations for places like Kosovo, Liberia, and Somalia. Na the kind person wey we need for this kind important position.
Two other big men wey don promote na Danjuma Aboki and Dansabo Idi; dem don move up from Commissioners of Police to AIGs. Aboki before dey run Imo State Police Command while Idi dey handle Research and Planning for the Force Headquarters. Their experience no be small, so na him dey add to the quality of police leadership for the country.
As dem dey promote inspector wey be 26,119, no be joke! Dem dey rise from Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II), and all this promotion na because of how dem perform for Departmental Selection Board Examination wey just finish. E mean say dem don hustle well! PSC dey gree say this promotion no be just to give rank but to ensure say dem go work hard for the security of our country.
Chairman Argungu come use the opportunity to remind dem say this na new level of responsibility for dem. He talk say, “These promotions show our level of commitment to transparency and integrity. Make we no dull ourselves; making this country safe na our joint effort.” Di PSC sef no dey sleep; dem get their eyes for how dem dey carry police matter go forward, make e dey efficient and professional.
