Motorists wey dey ply this road don start to dey complain like say na competition. Every day, as you dey enter road, na so you go dey spend hours for the same spot wey normally fit take you 30 minutes to clear. E dey happen for Kara Bridge, where dem dey do repair work. Or how una go explain say Bakassi dey carry person join this matter?
Lateef Oladele, one driver wey dey drive from Berger go Mowe-Ibafo talk say him don turn to mechanic as e no fit pass the road. “From Mowe go Berger, I dey use 45 minutes if traffic no dey, but now na three hours to just pass one small bridge if trailer jam,” him yarn. Na wetin be this? Una fit imagine the frustration?
Ibrahim, another victim of this traffic saga, sef no gree keep mouth shut. “E be like say dem don forget say people dey waka. From Ibafo go Berger na wah! Na 15 minutes journey, but you go spend like two to three hours for that road!” E make sense? No be so dem suppose dey treat us o!
They fresh beg the Federal Government make dem find solution before person go start to de sell fuel as food. Ishau Omolola come carry suggestion proper; him say make dem work for night time to ease congestion. “This road na the busiest for Western Nigeria. I fit talk say dem go fit move faster if dem carry their work for night light,” him suggest.
Omolola still recommend say make dem create alternative routes. “See, e get road wey dey come from Magboro wey fit join Ifo. If dem fit manage connect that place with Berger and Magboro, road go dey smooth pass.” Dem fit dey argue but e dey very clear say something gats happen to ease dis level of wahala.
But no be only traffic jam dey disturb dem, police too dey carry wahala come join. One driver wey no wan show face yarn say as dem dey face traffic from Magboro, police for checkpoint dey collect money from people wey no suppose pay. “If you no gree drop money, you no go pass,” e talk. Na wetin dey happen for dis na our country?
For the other side, Federal Commissioner of Works for Ogun State, Layi Komolafe, don come out talk say the narrow road na wetin dey cause the heavy traffic. Him don appeal make motorist get patient small, say dem go soon finish work. “We dey work for one side while dem dey pass for another. E go fit take time but we dey try.”
Kai! And to make matter worse, one of their staff die during night work, so dem no fit do any night session for now. All dem wahala + delay go soon need a miracle to clear, no be small! Naim dem need better planning and communication to arrange everything fast before person go truly demotivated and start to carry leg waka.
