Na Deputy Governor, Dr Umar Kadafur, wey represent Zulum as e dey talk after swearing in new local government chairmen for Maiduguri. E say dis thing na to make everything dey transparent, so people go fit see wetin dey happen with dem money. I mean, no more back and forth wey dey delay work, right?
According to Kadafur, dis na way to make local government chairmen fit shine! E talk say dis policy na big example wey Borno dey set for whole country. E no dey lie—Borno na the only place wey local governments dey handle dem funds directly!
“You gatz dey accessible to your people. Our governor dey serious about development for Borno State,” Kadafur tell the chairmen. E don clear am say the days wey local governments dey complain about bureaucratic wahala don pass. Na new jand now!
Kadafur also make am clear say the state go dey publish all the allocations wey go local governments, no hiding anything again. “We go carry all the allocations wey we give una come out, so that una go dey accountable to the people wey una dey serve,” he talk.
He no stop there o! He tell those newly sworn-in chairmen say make dem prioritize staff welfare, security, and make sure service delivery no slack anymore. Wasteful spending no go fit fly here again. “You must run every kobo well, and focus on wetin go better lives,” he clear say.
Kadafur even add say dem gatz pay salaries and entitlements on time, no room for any ‘delay’ stories. And as dem dey enter power, e wan make sure say discipline and productivity don come back for government offices. “Make sure say all workers dey report on time, we need to see work dey happen!”
