Ekiti Gov don approve N76.6m for teachers welfare

No be small matter o! Ekiti State Government don approve N76.6 million for vehicle and housing loans wey go benefit primary school teachers for the state. Na so dem dey try boost teachers’ morale, as dem dey work hard to make our pikin dem learn well.

For the arrangement, 49 teachers go collect vehicle loans while 72 others go enjoy housing loans. Na the Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, wey talk am for Ado Ekiti say this one na part of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to make sure say teachers dey well catered for. E mean say better welfare fit help teachers perform better for classroom and give pikin dem better learning environment.

Akinwumi talk say, “This gesture na confirmation say we dey serious about education. If teachers dey happy, e go translate to the way dem dey teach.” E also mention say this no be the first time, as dem don already share N200 million under revolving loan scheme wey don help more teachers before now.

He call on the beneficiaries make dem take the loans well and give proper service back to the system to show say dem appreciate the government gesture. E no easy to dey teach for this time, so Government dey try make am easier for them.

Mr. Michael Omolayo, wey be the Permanent Secretary for SUBEB, come break am down well. He talk say N43 million go enter for the vehicle loans, while N33.6 million go go for the housing loans. This na continuation of the efforts wey Oyebanji dey do since September 2025, when he approve N596.6 million for car and housing loans for teachers and non-teaching staff. Wetin make this gist sweet pass be say some teachers dey enjoy better packages.

Mr. Michael Boluwade, Permanent Secretary for Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission, no carry last, him come add say, “Out of the money wey dem approve, N381.5 million na for car loans to 382 beneficiaries, while N215.1 million na for housing loans for 425 teachers. Dis loans dey part of the new policy wey dey reflect the 100 percent increase wey the governor don stamp.”

This one na definitely better news for teachers wey dey push hard for our pikin dem to learn well. Make we dey hope say more positive gestures go come for this education sector as we dey push for better future for our children.
