The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, don talk say traditional leaders get plenty role to play.
During one meeting wey dem hold for Ado Ekiti, di REC yan say as dem dey plan this election, dem need all hands on deck to ensure say everything dey go well. E talk say dem go start Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) from Monday, and e go dey happen for ward level so everybody fit participate.
Na wetin happen for dier community wey fit change di game, as di traditional institutions sabi everybody wey dey around. Dr. Omoseyindemi talk say, “Your voices carry weight. If you support this CVR, it go make people sabi say dem fit come register and vote.” Na here we go see how light we fit shine on di electoral process, my friend.
And no be say dem sabi just talk, o! Di chairman of di Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Adejimi Adu-Alagbado, don assure say dem go continue to dey do wetin dey necessary make peace reign. E talk say, “We no get wahala for Ekiti so far, and we go make sure say dis year’s election go dey peaceful like di ones wey don pass.”
Dem don even publish di names of di 12 political parties wey dey ready to contest. Public campaign don start since January 21, and everybody dey prepare to come out and do wetin dem suppose do for democracy.
As dem dey ready for di election, INEC don talk say dem dey learn from past experiences to make sure say dis time around, wetin go happen go get beta record. Dem want make sure say voters dey feel secure and happy to come out.
