No be small matter o! All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) don finally release the timetable wey go guide dem for the 2026 local government primary elections for Anambra State. As e be, this news don scatter everywhere since Thursday, when dem national publicity secretary, Ejimofor Opara, yan say dem don follow their constitution and Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) schedule for dis arrangement.
The timetable dey clear like water. Dem go start to sell and collect Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from January 27 go February 6 for their office wey dey Awka. Na during dis period, the aspirants for chairmanship and councillorship go submit their forms. E no stop for there, the screening go happen from February 7 to 11 across all the 21 local government areas plus 326 wards. But if you think say you go just stroll in, you dey wrong!
Dem go also handle any wahala wey follow screening on February 13. Then on February 14, dem go hold ward congresses wey go help elect councillorship candidates and ad hoc delegates. Na today, February 15, be di major day for chairmanship primary election, while any appeal from di primary dem go settle on February 16 for Awka too. E no go be like say wahala no go dey, you hear?
For those wey wan run for chairmanship, dem don price di forms for N6 million, while councillorship forms go cost N600,000. But hear dis: if you be female aspirant or person wey get disability, you go pay just half of di fee. Na so dem dey try make am easy for everybody wey fit run.
But make I clear you one thing, all dis money wey you go pay no dey refundable o! So, better drop your coin well if you dey serious. And APGA don remind all di aspirants say, make dem follow all di guidelines wey dem don set. No go dey do your own thing like say dem no sabi say you dey play the game.
