PVC wahala for Yobe: Na who go collect am?

Na wa o! Yobe State dey waka serious gbege with dem unclaimed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Omo, 41,656 PVCs dey sit down tight, no owner don show face to collect am. Na the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, talk this one for news conference wey dem hold for Damaturu.

According to Abdullahi, na only 1,100 PVCs don collect since dem start this current exercise for August 18, 2025. E no make sense at all! Abeg, una wey get this PVCs, make you try collect am for INEC offices across the 17 local government areas for the state, no slack o!

Dem don also plan to start Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) for Residential Areas and wards for 50 days. Ne, the man talk say this one go start from February 2, 2026, to April 10, 2026. Dis move na because dem see say people no dey show well for registration centre, dem sabi say plenty wahala dey ground like farming activities, insecurity, and even rough terrain wey dey cause people to no come out.

“We wan make sure say everybody fit registered,” Abdullahi yarns. E emphasize say everybody gatz know the importance of registering and voting, especially as 2027 general elections dey approach. No be small matter o, make citizens dey take ownership of this electoral process.

But wait! No let anybody fool you with scam! Abdullahi don warn say INEC no dey collect any money for registration. E good make people sabi this one well-well to avoid fraudsters wey go want collect una cash!

If dem continue like this, who go vote for the election? Na only 1,100 people don show face collect their PVCs, and di rest dey under the sun dey collect dust. The registration wahala no be joke, na for serious matter be this!

Make we no forget say di first phase of dis CVR don end for December 21, 2025, where dem display di preliminary voters’ register for claims and objections. So, another chance dey for whoever wey still dey find to register.
