For January 27, 2026, two sets of protesters show up wey dey clash for Isolo. One group dey support NAFDAC wey wan stop all dem alcohol wey dey come for sachets and small bottles, while the other group dey vex say dem no gree carry dem alcohol matter go where dem fit use am.

NAFDAC don already talk say, dem no wan make any alcohol come outside for sachets wey dey below 200ml. Dem Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, don yarn say dis enforcement no go end anytime soon. E clear say na only government go fit change dis wahala wey dey happen.

For ground, those wey dey support NAFDAC carry placards wey talk say things like “NAFDAC do the needful, our lives are precious” and “Alcoholic sachet drinks, killing Nigerians.” Dem dey make am clear say, dem no dey against alcohol o, but dem no wan make young people suffer because of wetin dem dey drink.

But the other group wey dey vex carry placards wey talk say “NAFDAC stop working for multi-nationals” and “Director-General of NAFDAC dey work against President Bola Tinubu.” Dem say dem dey feel say NAFDAC just wan spoil market for their local manufacturers.

Mr. Babatunde Adeshina wey talk for the people wey dey support NAFDAC, say dis ban dey important for public health matter. E talk say: “As concerned Nigerians, we no dey against alcohol consumption; wetin we dey against na dis sachet alcohol wey dey ruin life of plenty youths.”

Meanwhile, the crowd wey no dey support the ban don talk say this enforcement go dey bad for economy. Dem go gather plenty consumer rights activists wey dey protest against the move and dem call am “economically insensitive.”
