Last year, na Federal Executive Council approve Enugu Airport make dem hand am over to private pocket for better management, but since that signing happen, na so workers don dey shout. Minister Festus Keyamo, wey dey handle Aviation and Aerospace Development, talk say dem don finish negotiation after plenty yawa, but wetin we see na say workers no gree! Dem dey fear say their welfare go waka if dem just hand over everything to private investors.
Keyamo try assure dem say dem go still dey work as Federal staff, but the big question wey dey ground be say, wetin happen to the tenure of that concession? E mean say, dem no talk how long the private investors go hold am, and that one dey cause gbege among the unions.
Enugu Airport no be small airport o! Na one of the five airports wey former Minister Stella Oduah remodel. Dem use $500m loan from China with some small change from our pocket to do am fine, and now, e be like say wahala don show face because aviation unions don finally agree say dem go meet to discuss this koko matter.
But, you know say some of the union big men no show face for the meeting wey suppose happen. Instead, dem don plan to carry letter go give the minister, as dem dey reject the whole concession idea sharp sharp, say dem no follow the due process wey dem suppose follow. Na today dem go deliver that letter, if anything no change for last minute!
One union leader wey gree talk but no wan show name, tell us say this whole concession gist dey illegal, as dem no follow correct procedures. He even yarn say the people wey represent the workers for the committee no suppose dey there in the first place, as dem just dey keep the general secretaries in dark!
