No be small wahala wey don dey for Ijebu land o! Ogun State Ministry of Local Government don come flex their muscle as dem clear air say no be true matter dey flow about three big chiefs wey dem dey call Kakanfo, Lapoekun, and Madasa for Ijebu land.
Reports wey wan show say dem don suspend these chiefs from Council of Chiefs no be anything but big lie! Commissioner for Local Government, Ganiyu Hamzat, and Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, Dare Alebiosu, talk say dem no approve any drama like that. Dem even call the gist ‘handiwork of mischief makers’ wey wan scatter peace for Ijebu!
According to dem, chieftaincy matter no be play matter; e dey guided by law and customs wey no one fit bypass. Dem urge everybody make dem no buy this false gist as e fit lead to wahala for the community.
This matter come fresh as dem dey prepare for new Awujale selection after the ogbonge Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona waka come out for this life on July 13, 2025, at the ripe age of 91. The Fusengbuwa Ruling House suppose produce candidates for this selection, but e no dey easy as wahala don dey everywhere!
As things dey hot, state government don set up some temporary body to manage everything wey concern traditional affairs while dem dey find new Awujale. This committee dey led by Chief Folorunso Kuku, wey be Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu land, plus plenty other chiefs wey dey involved in di matter wey talk say dem dey suspended!
December last year, dem try nominate new candidates but wahala burst as dem halt everything again, claiming procedural error. Dem rearrange again for January 12, 2026, but again, no peace as dem suspend everything on January 20 after some people raise eyebrow over the matter. Na so members of Fusengbuwa Ruling House come dey protest dey shout say dem dey try to force candidate on dem.
Now, Ogun state government and Ijebu Ode Local Government don dey plead for peace as dem warn against publishing any false information wey fit cause more tension for the land. Make everybody calm down o!
