My people, as e be like this, Ijebu Ode don burst into serious protest matter this Friday! Members of Fusengbuwa ruling house no come shy at all as dem take to the streets to show say dem no gree make any foreigner impose candidate as the next Awujale of Ijebu land.
The Awujale stool don dey vacant since last year July when the late Oba Sikiru Adetona waka go meet his ancestors after 65 years reign. And trust the people, dem no go sit down make anybody just choose king for dem like say na small matter. As dem protested, dem carry placards wey get things like: “Fusengbuwa say no to imposition”, and “Let Ifa oracle determine the next Awujale.” My people, e be like say this matter don hot!
The protesters start their waka from Odo Egbo roundabout, go reach Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat for Itooro where dem meet the LG chairman, Dare Alebiosu. Na there, Mrs. Adejugba Obileye, wey talk for the ruling house, come explain say the gist wey dem dey protest for na to demand make dem reopen the palace and make government no interfere for the selection process wey fit choose the next Awujale.
According to her, the Awujale seat no be play thing and no go dance to political tunes. She say,
