National Coordinator of di group, Jamilu Charachi talk am clear during one public lecture wey dem organize for Maiduguri, Borno State. E come talk say di rate of drug abuse for di North don dey fly high, and na im make dem organize di lecture wey focus on how to tackle dis issue.
Charachi reveal say, according to statistics, Northern states dey top di list for drug consumption, wey no make sense at all because we no even get drug manufacturing industry for dem side. Dem don seize over 5 million tramadol pills along di Zaria-Kano road, and na our paddy for Kano, Kastina, and Jigawa dey take am pass.
E no go sweet if we just dey focus on students alone. Married women too dey join dem for dis drug matter. Charachi talk am say, “If we no catch dis problem early, our society go dey waka towards destruction.”
Di Chairman wey dey oversee di event, Bulamali Gubio, wey also be Chairman of Gubio Local Government Area, don talk say make our youths wake up. E emphasize say instead of focus on development, dem dey yarn about drug abuse and violence. Dis plenty wahala dey scatter our system small small.
Director of Logistics and Finance for Association of Northern Groups, Borno State, Abubakar Fatima, also talk say di program no just dey hold for Borno but plenty other states like Adamawa, Kano, Sokoto, and Bauchi don dey receive am.
