Chai! Na wah oh, Labour Party dey shake ground again! You fit remember say dem don dey fight about who go lead the party, but recent court judgement don drop bombshell.
As per Federal High Court wey dey Abuja, dem don order Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Senator Nenadi Usman as the genuine caretaker chairperson wey dey lead Labour Party now. This one no be joke at all, as the Otti-back faction don call for unity and reconciliation make everybody come together.
Aunty Usman, wey be Interim National Chairman, don talk say this court ruling na serious chance for dem to heal heart and not make the wahala pass galala. According to am, dem go treat this matter with sense make sure say the party no break apart.
But no be say everybody dey happy like that oh! The other faction led by Julius Abure don declare say dem go appeal this judgement because dem believe say na misinterpretation of wetin Supreme Court talk last year. Abure don hammer say e no go let this judgement stop am, as e still dey claim say na him dey relevant for the party leadership.
Justice Peter Lifu na the person wey drop this judgment wey don scatter ground. E tok say Abure tenure don expire, so na Usman and hin team wey go take over while dem wale for national convention make dem choose new leaders. Reaction from the Otti side dey positive but dem still dey urge peeps make dem no celebrate too much; na time for healing, dem say!
Dem talk say, “We dey happy say the court find say na Usman dey lead the party now by law. But make nobody dey raise shoulder like say dem don win war. Na time to reconcile and move forward together.” Na here the real party matter dey, abeg.
Dem also dey encourage any member wey dey vex or get grievance to sheathe dem swords and come sit down for table to gist. “We go need everybody hand to rebuild Labour Party make e fit stand well for Naija politics,” Usman yan.
To show say dem serious for this reconciliation matter, Usman don announce say dem go form Truce and Reconciliation Committee wey go put head together with all aggrieved members wey feel say dem no like wetin dey happen.
All the while, INEC dey observe all these wahala. Dem don call them to comply with the court order without any wahala. This court decision don open new chapter for Labour Party, we go see if e go bring peace or wahala wey never end.
