As we sabi, di strike begin for December 24, 2025, when dem vex say government no gree implement di New National Minimum Wage for di schools wey dey under dem umbrella. Dem dey represent lecturers from three main schools: Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, College of Agriculture, and di College of Education.
Chairman of di union, Samson Kale Gbande, no gree hide im mind for di press briefing. E talk say di state government no fit keep di promises wey dem don talk before. But as dis New Year don show face, di wahala don calm small-small after wetin happen for di meeting wey dem hold.
During di meeting, Rector of Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Associate Prof. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, don carry good news come. E tell di striking union say government dey work on top di issues wey dem talk, and na why dem for no let di students suffer because of strike wahala. You sabi say no be everything wey dey sweet for mouth fit make sense for school, right?
Den, on January 21, di chairman Gbande talk say dem don suspend di strike and make all members return to dem duties “immediately and unconditionally.” Everybody dey jubilate, e be like sey dis school year go better pass di last one.
Gbande come talk say dem appreciate Governor Abdullahi Sule for im effort to make sure say di New National Minimum Wage dey work well for di three state-owned schools. E even shout am loud say dem don start to pay di wage for November and December already!
