My people, Naija don really turn to cinema wey no get happy ending. Everywhere you turn, na only wahala and disillusionment dey greet people. E be like say we don dey blend hope with grief; instead of joy, na fear and anger be our new investors.
As na so e be, we dey joke about our troubles and the fire wey dey burn for our own backyard. But no be the kind joke wey sweet; na the kain wey dey make dem dey call for ‘collapses’ like say na finish line we dey run. You fit see the way we dey invoke violence, like wetin happen for Rwanda in the past. Naija don catch dis burial habit, and we dey play with death like say e be game show.
We dey disgrace our future for public, and no one seem to sabi wetin dey happen. With over 200 million citizens, we all dey sit down dey watch as our leaders dey carry their bags go obodo oyinbo the moment things wan spoil. And who go pay the price? Na the common man wey dey hustle every day. Forget all the wahala wey we dey bicker about online; when the action start, na we go feel am.
If we continue to dey threaten each other based on tribe or socio-economic differences, e go lead us to a bloody mess. People wey suppose dey enjoy life go turn to enemies—all because we no fit settle our differences with words. Old friendships go scatter like peppered fish, and na the machete go stick be our new language of communication. Women go suffer pass, as dem dey always dey do for this kain matter.
Those wey dey brew war under the guise of fighting for freedom, dem no go know say dem dey dig their own graves. E fit sweet for mouth, but reality no dey lie. If we no take am easy, we go see how our children go grow up learning grief and suffering instead of peace.
Naija and the whole of Africa need to take a cue from history. We go fit talk about unity and peace, but the way we dey treat ourselves no dey match the talk. This no go change if our leaders no dey push for better governance and accountability. If Nigeria break down because we no fit handle our issues, who go come save us? No outside body go come rescue us from the mess wey we don cook ourselves.
So my people, make we think twice before we dey play with fire, because fire no dey discriminate when e dey rage. When the smoke clear, only the common man go remain to witness the ashes of what we refuse to protect. We no go fit allow promises to be broken; we need real talks, real intentions, and true unity for this Naija wey we all call home.
