Omo, na big news wey don land for Naija gas sector! Seplat Energy don fire up their ANOH gas project wey dey produce 300 million standard cubic feet per day (MMcfd) of gas. This one na serious step as dem don begin to supply gas to Indorama Petrochemical Plant after dem finish one gde 11-km pipeline wey dey carry gas go the factory.
As dem start production on January 16, 2026, wet gas production don dey steady between 40 to 52 MMscfd, plus condensate production don reach 2.0-2.5 kboepd. E mean sey as dem dey ramp up to full capacity, e go increase well well. Dem don bring four upstream wells wey don dey idle since November 2025 back online, so e go fit help the gas flow sharper.
Seplat dey run the ANOH project as joint venture with Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC), and e consist of two gas processing units, LPG recovery unit, plus a nice power plant wey dey supply 16 megawatts. Na part of wetin dem dey do to block gas flaring for environment sake. E go help dem for their End of Routine Flaring programme wey dem dey push.
Roger Brown, wey be CEO of Seplat Energy, don yan sey this project go boost dem onshore gas processing capacity to over 850 MMscfd and go help achieve dem 2030 production target of 200 kboepd. Na wetin make this project dey important for Seplat, NGIC, plus Nigeria as a whole. E go create job, provide clean cooking gas for plenty homes, and also contribute to better energy access for Naija people.
With the ANOH gas project don start operation, dem don set plans to begin gas sales to Nigeria LNG under interruptible agreement. Na so e be sey dem go fit supply gas better as gas plant dey expand production. Na sure thing, as we sabi sey the more gas, the better for Nigerians wey dey need am.
Seplat dey proud sey dem handle the project well, and no accident happen for all the 17.5 million man-hours wey dem spend for this project. This one show how safety na top priority for dem.
So my people, make we dey look how this ANOH gas project go change the energy game for Naija! More gas means more light and cooking fuel, na everybody go sabi wetin we dey talk. E don clear say Seplat dey try do better for the environment and economy as dem push dis project go live.
