Omo, FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, come drop this gist during interview with News Agency of Nigeria for Abuja. He break down di arrests as we dey hear am. For January, dem catch nine suspects; February, three; March, two, and April, one. Na May dem catch four people wey steal armoured cables and telecom mast accessories. June the same vibes, four suspects. July bring six, while di people wey dey vandalise streetlights still dey run am.
August na wah! Dem catch 27 suspects that month make am no be small. But September come hot pass, as dem catch 58 suspects! Talk about a lanter-wahala! October no arrest at all, but November, dem catch two again. December, na only di guys wey vandalised crash barriers still dey waka free. Na so dem dey waka for 2025!
Odumosu no dey happy at all, because dem dey do too much vandalism. He mention say dem dey nab people wey dey steal telecom gadgets, dey break billboards, dismantle streetlights, and dey cause wahala for road crash barriers. E no good at all!
For now, 15 cases still dey ongoing, four cases under investigation, and dem don secure convictions for five. Make you no forget say some areas dey suffer pass for this vandalism matter, like adjoining offices, telecom facilities, and even streetlights near National Hospital!
Odumosu come waka tell us say Federal Government don spend big money on infrastructural development, and he dey beg we, di residents, to help security agencies by giving better intel to catch di vandal dem. “Security na joint effort,” he talk, “and until we sabi am, we no go fit achieve wetin we suppose for this country.” Make we join hand together!
He also throw warning for those wey dey plan to misbehave in 2026: “If you catch am, no be say di law go catch you sweet like sugar.” E go hot if you try!”
