This one na big tori wey dem drop on top social media on January 15, 2026, as dem dey respond to people wey dey vex on top long queue wey come turn to long wait. You get any idea how long e dey take before person fit collect im passport? Chai! Tori no be small, as even some big men don join dey shout.
NIS don talk say dem don add new feature wey dem call “PRODUCED (PASSPORT PRODUCED, READY FOR COLLECTION).” This one go make all dem wey don apply sabi say their passport don ready to pick or courier delivery. No more guesswork, my guys!
As wahala dey hot, NIS talk say na plenty passport don dey produced but na so-so waiting dey happen. Dem notice say plenty people dey complain on social media about di wahala wey dey hold dem down, including Fisayo Soyombo wey don dey wait since six months for im own renewal. E even call am “gallery play and public sentiment manipulation”, wahala no go catch am!
But NIS don clear am say Soyombo own don ready and na just one or two technical wahala wey dey make dem delay. Na so dem fit carry wahala dey follow online application; plenty people don yan say immigration officers dey try collect bribe anyhow for passport matter. It dey sweet if person fit show dem pepper!
As if that one no do enough damage, NIS still increase di price of passport. E don change from N50,000 to N100,000 for 32-page passport, while di 64-page one don come up to N200,000! Na double wahala in less than 12 months! Chei! This economy dey vex, my people.
NIS come talk say this new tracking system na part of di plan to make sure say dem dey run beta-level service for Nigerians. Dem wan make sure say we no dey vex again when we dey look for our passport, instead make we fit track am like e be di latest match wey dey trend.
