Na last Ofala Festival wey carry this incident come happen. The masquerader, wey dem fit see for viral video dey pursue people anyhow like say dem no get sense. Dem catch am dey push elderly people off motorcycles, scatter things, and even dey make everybody dey run for their lives!
People dey wonder how person wey suppose represent culture go turn bad belle for public event, sha. Dem dey cheer am on like say na real entertainment, but reality be say e don cause plenty panicking for crowd wey suppose dey enjoy the festival.
One shocked video show say dis masquerader no even gree elderly man fit waka well again as e push am off bicycle. Na so dem hear say one old man still collect serious fall as him run from the masquerader and hit head for parked vehicle. Chai! Wetin person no go see for this obodo Naija!
The police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, don confirm the case, talk say dem don put the masquerader for net and dem dey work to catch all the other people wey join am for the matter. E clear say dem no go take dis matter play at all.
Ikenga talk say, “Dis masquerader wey dey misbehave, e no get any respect for public peace. Na so we go deal with am, make everybody know say we no go tolerate this kind action.” We no wan hear say culture turn to violence, abeg.
Just last year, dey talk say another masquerader, wey dem call “Nweke,” don cause wahala too. E carry do kill 71-year-old man during another masquerading outing. The culture commissioner of Anambra, Don Onyenji, don scatter ground before talk say masquerades suppose stay for right places, e no suppose dey cause wahala for road or disturb anybody.
Na serious matter be this o! Festival suppose be time wey people dey enjoy, not time wey dem dey fear for their lives. As culture no suppose turn to crime, we go dey watch as police go do their thorough investigation. Na the time for justice for Awgbu and makeup wey dem no ask for!
