Education commissioner, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, talk say dem don receive serious petition from one private school for Onitsha wey complain say noise wey dey come from Divine Dominion Prophetic Ministry dey distract their students.
According to the school proprietress, the church dey run activities wey dey loud well-well, especially for Tuesdays when dem dey do service from morning till evening. Chuma-Udeh talk say dis kind noise no go fit let students focus on their studies.
The commissioner no hide her worry as she yarn say the Governor Soludo-led government no go let any wahala affect students right to learn in peace. E even remind dem say noise pollution na serious offense under Nigerian law, and if you catch person wey dey disturb noise, dem fit face serious punishment!
Chuma-Udeh don drop order say make the church reschedule their activities to start from 4:00 p.m., sharp after school don close. She no wan hear any excuse – if dem refuse to obey, she go call Ministry of Environment come settle matter, and na dem sabi wetin go happen next.
She mention say even if church dey hold events on weekend, dem go still consider wetin dey happen for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB. School dey jaga-jaga, dem no fit allow any loud noise to scatter their serious matter!
The assistant pastor for the church, Emmanuel Ukpabi, don promise say dem go find way to work together with the school make sure say everybody dey live in peace. E come dey very obvious say dem go like make everything dey smooth for both sides, wey na wetin true Christianity suppose be!
