These students just dey protest about insecurity for their area, and as dem dey shout, police come arrest dem like say dem be criminals. Na wah oh! Over 52 of dem carry body enter police net just because dem try talk say ‘we no wan die for ground o!’
As dem dey shout for democracy, the police reach there come turn am to wahala, some even say na hoodlums dey cause problem. But Citizens’ Gavel no gree. Dem talk say many of the students wey dem catch no even show face for the protest! This one no make sense at all.
Sylvester Agih, the main lawyer for the group, don make am clear say they go stand with the students and gree demand say make Edo State government and police give these boys their freedom back. E no fit be say dem dey fight crime for community and when students talk, na dem dem go catch.
Na so senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan join the matter too. She talk am clear say make government focus on security wahala rather than locking students wey dey protest. She no send dem as she touch light the issue by saying, ‘Dialogue no be detention, dem suppose reason with students, no be to dey suppress dem voice.’
This matter dey vex many students wey dey fear for their life for school, as plenty of dem sabi how kidnapping dey reign for that Ekpoma side. NANS, na di student body, don also shout as dem label the arrest as “unjust, unacceptable, and disturbing.” Dem no wan make dem treat students like sey dem no get right to talk.
As police no fit catch real criminals, dem choose to show strength for students wey just wan talk their mind. Instead of addressing the issue as e be, dem carry wahala go meet public opinion. Na so wahala fit start, and wahala go fit multiply if dem no release these students sharp-sharp!
