Nigeria Remember Fallen Soldiers as Dem Celebrate Armed Forces Day

My people, e don reach that time wey we go remember our fallen soldiers as Nigeria dey mark Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day for 2026. Na big occasion wey every Nigerian suppose put mouth for, especially for Sokoto State where dem don gather for Giginya Barracks to honor those wey don sacrifice their lives.

Chief Imam of Giginya Barracks Jumu’at Mosque, Major Tanimu Hamisu, and Major General Ibikunle Ajose, wey be General Officer Commanding 8 Division, talk say we suppose dey pray for families wey lose their loved ones. Dem remind us say those soldiers wey die no just die for nothing; dem fight to protect our peace and unity as naija people.

During di Jumat prayer, Major Hamisu talk true when e yarn say, “Fallen soldiers dey occupy special places for di hereafter.” E no lie at all, my people! Dem sacrifice plenty, and na wetin we go always recognize. We no suppose forget dem, and e dey our responsibility to support di families wey remain, especially those widows and children wey need help. If we neglect dem, na so we dey put our national security for wahala.

Plus, for di Christian service wey happen on Sunday, Major General Ajose, plus Brigadier General Rapheal Okoroji wey represent am, share words of support for di welfare of soldiers and families of those wey don fall. E talk say, “Our fallen heroes make big sacrifice, and we no fit take am for granted.” Na true talk! Baskets of food dey share for di barracks community, and dem dey try engage with families of di deceased soldiers to show say dem no dey alone.

Different governors join am for di talk, like Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State wey talk say make we dey pray for wisdom and peace. Dem dey remind us say, every soldier get family wey sacrifice for dem wahala too, and we all need blend together to show love. Na only together we fit achieve success against di criminal elements wey dey disturb our peace.

For di two-day commemoration, dem do food distribution and create awareness on support for di soldiers and their families. Nigerian people, make we no just talk on social media alone; we gatz show action wey go help and uplift dem. No one wey get loved ones in di military go like to be forgotten.

Make we remember dat Armed Forces Remembrance Day dey happen on January 15 every year, and e dey for honor of soldiers wey don pay di ultimate price, whether for internal or external operations, including di civil war and di fight against terrorism.
