NARD Don Suspend Strike, E Go Wait Till January 25

For virtual meeting wey dem hold Sunday, na so dem reason am come decide to hold on small, make dem fit observe di progress wey don happen with government stakeholders. Dr. Ibrahim talk say dem get better commitments from ministries of Health, Labour, and Finance, plus others.

Matter be say, na Vice President Kashim Shettima intervene for di whole gist, as he represent President Bola Tinubu. No wonder dem sef fit talk say dem ready to suspend di strike for now. But dem still dey watch am; if progress no show by January 25 for their next National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, e fit change.

NARD don talk say dem don collect commitment from di Ministries wey dey lose for health matter, plus di Accountant-General, Budget Office, and even di Vice President himself. Dem say some of dem demands don dey make headway, including new reconciliation committee for Lokoja hospital crisis, wey don see dem dey make effort to reduce wahala for workers.

Naija doctors dey follow up their salary and allowance matter sharply, as dem don also submit verified lists to di IPPIS for their CONMESS arrears. Wia money dey, na di waka wey dem dey push for, so dem dey wait for response from di Ministry of Finance. Dem wan clear all di wahala before dem go resume full activities.

Di Secretary-General, Dr. Ibrahim, talk say dem need to ensure all workers receive dia pay well well. He even mention how dem don set up committee on locum practice and work-hour policy, so doctors no go dey overwork again. Na serious things dey happen o!

NARD no wan dey idle again, dem dey involved for every level to make sure their members dey okay. Dem don release circulars about di professional allowances wey suppose begin since January, plus 18 months arrears wey dey inside di 2026 budget. Dem dey work hard to make sure everybody get wetin dem deserve.

Before now, NARD don threaten to embark on di ‘Total Indefinite and Complete Strike’ (TICS 2.0) if di federal government no follow through on dia promises. But now wey dem don suspend am, we hope say dem go fit resolve di wahala wey dem dey face.

We go dey keep our eyes on di matter as NARD dey continue di hustle. If dem no see progress by di end of di month, tori fit change again. Make we dey pray say wahala no go arise again because people wey dey sick need dem care!
