My people, una don hear wetin dey happen for Heritage Bank matter? Na serious gbege as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) don revoke the bank license since June 2024. Na wah oh!
Na so the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) enter the waka to take manage the matter. Dem don begin settle the people wey deposit money for the bank, dem go fit collect up to ₦5 million from dey money wey dem dey share.
As part of the hustle wey NDIC dey do, dem don sell some physical assets and recover plenty debts. For April 2025, dem don declare first liquidation dividend of ₦46.6 billion, wey they pay the depositors wey get balance wey pass ₦5 million. Dem dey give dem 9.2 kobo per ₦1.00 wey dey their account then. Na so dem dey try to help guys wey deposit for the bank.
Now, the gist don come again as dem don declare second liquidation dividend of ₦24.3 billion. This one na for all those wey still get money wey pass the insured limit! Na through recovery and asset sales wey dem collect this cash, dem go share am, and na 5.2 kobo per ₦1.00 dey come this time.
As e be so, the total money wey don don share don reach 14.4 kobo per ₦1.00. If you don collect your first share before, this new one go enter your account directly, no wahala! Just make sure say your Bank Verification Number (BVN) dey intact so dem fit drop your money.
But wait oh, if you never collect your first ₦5 million or you never get BVN, make you go nearest NDIC office or fill the e-claim form wey dey their website so you fit get your own share too. E good make everybody collect wetin dem suppose collect.
Just to clear am well, liquidation dividend na the money NDIC dey pay for depositors wey get balance wey pass the insured limit after dem sell assets and recover debts. Na when everybody don collect wetin dem suppose collect, dem go fit think of the credibility wey dey left behind for creditors and shareholders, if money dey available sha.
NDIC don promise say dem go still dey try to recover wetin left and make sure say depositors dey get their money in time. So make you no dull, check your account make you see if your money don land!
