My people, wahala don burst as Benjamin Kalu, wey be Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, don open mouth talk say make the South-East dey support President Bola Tinubu for 2027 re-election. But people no gree o!
Critics dey sharply react, say Kalu dey far from wetin the people really want. Chief Barr. Chukwudi Ezeobika wey be National Legal Adviser for Inter-Party Advisory Council no hold back, him talk say, “Kalu dey wrong, as South-East no go vote for APC or Tinubu.” Abeg, you go ask wetin Tinubu don do for the region since e enter office.
The thing wey make this matter serious be say, Tinubu administration don dey face serious wahala concerning economy, security, and how dem dey treat South-East. E no good at all. Ezeobika talk say, “Tinubu regime no be easy for Naija people, especially for South-East.”
As e be, the South-East wey big pass 30 million people, some dey talk say na almost 40 million. Last election, Peter Obi from Labor Party carry the South-East like small pikin wey win five-a-side football match, with over 1.9 million votes. Wetin Tinubu come carry? Just small 127K votes. How e wan take win the area again?
Despite all this, some APC chieftains for Abia South dey drum up support for Tinubu, but e no go sweet if dem no hear wetin the people dey talk. Chief Asukewe Ikoawaji, former Deputy National Chairman of All Nigeria Peoples Party don talk say APC don fail too, just like how PDP fail before 2015 elections.
Even as some Igbo traditional rulers don pledge say dem go support Tinubu, dem still dey talk say dem go collect at least 70% of the votes from the region. Ohanaeze Ndigbo, wey be big Igbo socio-cultural group, don even endorse Tinubu because dem believe say he go fit develop di South-East. Chai! How Tinubu go win when Obi dey around with him popular policies and appeal for the youth?
Make we shine our eye well-well because 2027 election go hot. The South-East votes go be key to know who go carry the presidential crown for Naija. Keep your ear on the ground, as this matter dey unfold, we go dey here dey bring you all the gist!
