No be joke! Kano State Bureau of Statistics don announce say dem go do correct census for all tertiary institutions wey dey inside the state, as from January 14 to January 23, 2026. Na Dr. Suraj Sulaiman, wey be the Statistician-General, talk am for one statement wey him release for Kano.
This one no be small matter, because the main aim be to gather all the accurate and up-to-date data about tertiary education for Kano. E go help dem plan better way and make policies wey go fit work well. Wetin we go dey look for? Na the number and types of schools, how many students dey enrol, the kind academic programmes wey dey, plus all the infrastructure wey dey like classrooms, laboratories, and libraries. Dem go also check the staff levels and wetin dem qualify for, including whether dem dey operate well or not.
Dr. Sulaiman talk say this census go give all the policymakers and education managers better info wey go help them allocate resources wisely and improve educational outcomes for the state. E still beg all the tertiary institutions make dem gree work with the trained enumerators and supervisors wey go dey on ground for the exercise. Him talk say, “The cooperation of all tertiary institutions na im go shape the future of education for Kano State. The data wey we go gather go help for evidence-based decision-making.”
Sulaiman also emphasize say how successful this whole exercise go depend on how willing the institutions go be to provide timely and accurate information.
