This one na serious gbege wey involve some suspected political thugs wey no get respect for journalist work.
The attack happen as dem dey interview one big man, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, for one hotel. Eyewitnesses talk say these thugs wey carry mopol style come chop uninvited, scatter hotel room, and even carry phones belong to people. Na like this journalist dem say the interview go jam! Wetin dem no know be say journalists no be target, na dem dey carry people’s matter put for ground.
Mr Opaka Dokubo, wey be Vice President for NUJ, don come gather journalists for one press conference shout about this matter. He talk say, “Journalists no dey support any political side, dem just dey try carry correct news go give people!” E surely make sense, because how we go fit report anything when dem dey use force to stop us?
As dem dey pick the small pieces after the wahala, Opaka no forget to shout for police matter too. E thank dem for quick response when dem call, but e clear say na only to retrieve equipment no be enough justice. “We dey demand for all those wey involve for this kasala to face law!
