Nestlé Don Expand Recall of Baby Formula, Na Wah O!

Ahhh, my people, make I gist you wetin dey happen! E no sweet at all! Nestlé don extend their baby formula recall, and dis one dey burst brain! The issue wey dey ground be say some batches of their infant nutrition products don get contamination wey fit cause serious wahala like food poisoning. Dem talk say the toxin wey dey the formula fit make pikin vomit and feel nausea. Na wa!

This recall no be only for Europe o, e don touch Africa, Americas, and Asia too. The products wey dey affected include brands like SMA, BEBA, NAN and Alfamino. E be like say dem detect cereulide for dem products, and for those wey no sabi, cereulide na toxin wey dey make person dey feel very sick!

As e stand now, no one don report sickness wey connect to these affected products, but Nestlé dey on point with precaution. Dem don inform say this recall na global matter o. At least 37 countries dey onboard, including Australia, Brazil, China, and even South Africa.

Brazil’s health ministry don tok say dem start the recall after dem find the toxin for products wey come from Netherlands. And for Australia, dem batches wey dem recall na from Switzerland. China too don confirm say dem dey recall formula wey enter from Europe. Dis one na serious issue sha!

South Africa’s National Consumer Commission don make aware say the NAN formula wey dey affected was produced in June 2025 and e get shelf life of about 18 months. Dem even talk say dis product don waka go Namibia and Eswatini. Wetin dey happen sef?

Austria’s health ministry talk say dis wahala na the largest recall wey Nestlé don ever do, involving more than 800 products from over 10 factories. E be like say dem see serious quality issue with arachidonic acid oil after dem do their check. Nestlé don promise say dem go increase production, find alternative suppliers to keep supply going.

Dem don apologize to parents and caregivers wey dey feel the pressure of dis recall wahala, and dem don promise refunds for affected products. Dem also confirm say all other products wey no dey involved for dis recall dey safe to consume. Na so e be!

As Nigeria dey play its own game, e never clear if the affected batches reach our side. Premium Times don call National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) make dem clarify, but no reply don come as wey dem write dis report.

Meanwhile, Nestlé Nigeria don clarify say the baby formula wey dem dey sell for Naija no dey part of the global recall; all dem products wey dem sell for here don pass NAFDAC test and dem dey okay for consumption. The company dey assure everyone say dem dey committed to deliver quality products to the market.

So my people, make sure say if you dey use any formula from Nestlé, check the batch numbers well well! Make we no play with our children’s health. Stay safe, and make we dey watch as dem dey handle this matter. Na so food industry matter dey be – e fit gree you sudden wahala!
