According to the report wey dem bring come, tough times dey ahead. E dey say most people no fit gain enough money wey go fit balance the rising prices for food and essential goods. As e be now, many families dey find am hard to chop well as food dey cost pass before!
Still on top the matter, PwC talk say food dey take over 70% of wetin poorer Nigerians dey consume. Na so dem dey suffer anytime food prices take go up! Truth be say, food inflation dey hammer dem well-well.
No be say e go change anytime soon, as even if inflation fit cool down, high energy cost, transportation wahala, and foreign exchange issues go still keep prices high.
Based on the report, e dey clear say if we no get better plans like job creation and social welfare for those wey dey suffer, the poverty level go continue dey grow and e fit scatter economic stability for Naija.
World Bank sef don talk about dis matter, dey confirm say people wey dey live for poverty don increase from 81 million in 2019 to about 139 million by 2025. Na serious gbege be dat!
Make we no forget, say Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, wey be former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs talk say dem go dey give cash transfer of N75,000 to about 70 million ‘poorest of the poor’ in 2025. But no be so e go end there, we need more serious plans to fix this wahala!
At the end of the day, if we no fit reduce poverty, e go dey hard for Naija economy to grow, and we fit dey put more pressure for the government to deliver better living conditions for everybody. Na time to act be this!
