Na early morning of Tuesday, January 6, 2026, for Ife, Osun State, the 300-Level medicine and surgery student just waka go sleep, but no wake up again. E be like say na after him open door for one of him paddy around 2:00 a.m., dem just notice say the guy no dey respond again. Na serious shock e be for him roommates wey dey there.
Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Adebayo Simeon Bamire, come talk say dis matter too much, e pain everybody for the school and e describe the incident as ‘devastating.’ According to statement wey Mr Bamire release, dem whole university community dey feel am, and dis kind loss no suppose happen.
Na so e talk: ‘The loss of a young life filled with promise, purpose, and potential is a tragedy.’ E still emphasize say Toromade dey pursue medical training wey go help save life for future, but now, e no go fit fulfill that goal again. Na so life dey sometimes, e no dey get meaning.
The VC also talk say dem go dey investigate wetin really happen, make dem fit know how to handle dis kind wahala next time. He states say dem go provide psychological support for all who dey affected by dis tragic loss from the community. E good to show love and support for each other because na together we go fit heal.
Bamire call upon all students, staff, alumni, and all those wey fit talk for the school to remain calm and show empathy. E encourage dem to pray and carry small hope as dem dey mourn dis great loss. Na wetin we suppose do as family.
