Dis wahala happen near government house for Oke-Ode, Ifelodun LGA. Dem women don suffer plenty, as dem sabi say criminals dey kidnap their husbands and pikin dem for ransom, but wetin government do? Nothing! E pain dem, and dem just wan make their voice heard.
As dem dey carry placards dey shout for justice, suddenly, some hoodlums wey no get work come clear dem with lash. Even police wey dey there no fit do anything. Na so video of the incident take go viral for social media. People dey vex, and dem dey call for action.
One of the women wey talk for the protest say, “Dem don finish us with kidnapping for Oke-Ode. We no be rich people. We don use all our money try bail our husbands and children, but dem dey still hold dem.” The emotional outburst show say dis matter dey serious, and the pain wey dem dey carry no be small.
Human rights activist and all-round gist man, Omoyele Sowore don come out come condemn wetin happen. E talk say no be democracy if women and children go dey beat up for trying to protest. Sowore dey call out the governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, say wetin happen no make sense at all.
The governor don also respond. E no gree say wetin happen na in order. E don order police to find the thugs wey attack the women. E talk say, “Peaceful protest na democratic right. We no go allow this kind thing happen in our state.”
Baba don also lead parade for armed forest guards to help chase bandits come out from under everywhere. Him believe say with all the security efforts, dem fit secure the community. But e still dey clear say reality no dey match with wetin dem dey claim.
