Omo, Nigeria power sector don shine well well as TCN break record last year!

For December 21, 2025, dem report say TCN jam peak wey reach 5,801.84 megawatts (MW) on March 4, 2025. Dis one na big achievement for our national grid, e no be small thing, my people!

Engr Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, wey be TCN Managing Director, talk say this record na historic milestone wey dem achieve for 2025. E still talk say dem manage to deliver maximum daily energy wey reach 128,370.75 megawatt-hours (MWh) nationwide; na the highest wey Nigeria don ever see!

Abdulaziz give kudos to the company’s investment for infrastructure, transformer capacity expansion, and maintenance of transmission assets wey make this whole achievement possible. Na wetin dem dey do well well dey pay off, e talk!

He also mention say TCN don increase their wheeling capacity to 8,700MW. Dem dey set to support Nigeria electricity demand well well! Between January 2024 and November 2025 alone, dem commission 82 new transformers wey provide extra over 8,500 megavolt-amperes (MVA) to the grid.

But no forget say dem get wahala as infrastructure vandalism dey cause kasala. Abdulaziz talk say dem don record 131 vandalism incidents from January to November 2025, and dem dey work with security agencies and vigilante groups to solve dis wahala.

Don’t worry, dem no dey slack! Dem dey plan more sensitization programs to make sure communities dey aware of di wahala wey vandalism dey cause for our power infrastructure.

As dem dey move enter 2026, Abdulaziz talk say TCN go continue to chase greater grid capacity, stability and efficiency. E give shout-out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, for di support.

Overall, 2025 na one big year for TCN and dem go ensure say dem carry dem people along as dem dey push the sector forward.
