Chai! Na wah oh! As e be, Federal High Court wey dey Abuja don decline one matter wey concern the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and their oga, Senator David Mark. Na today dem hear am, and e no be small gist wey dey ground.

Justice Emeka Nwite na him dey handle the case, and him no gree make dem hold any convention or congress to elect new people for their leadership position. The matter come be say, one former Deputy National Chairman for the party, Nafiu-Bala Gombe, don run come court to stop dem. But the judge talk say make everybody dey present for court to hear the full gist before any decision go fit happen.

According to the judge, if dem go just grant the application without hearing from other parties, e go be like say dem dey overreach. Him talk say, “I have listened to the submission of the learned counsel for the applicant and have also gone through the affidavit evidence…” which simply mean say he don check all the documents well well.

Na so dem adjourn the matter to February 3, 2026, make the respondents fit come explain their side of the matter. E come dey show say this Gombe guy don list ADC, David Mark, and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as defendants wey dey follow am for this wahala.

Gombe wey come with him lawyer, Michael Agber, don file motion wey get plenty prayers. E dey ask make court stop ADC from holding any form of meeting anyway wey fit elect bodi or do any convention until dem don finalize this case. Even INEC dey catch fire for the matter too, as Gombe don ask make dem no participate for anything wey concern the ADC.

Na when the matter land for court, Agber don stand talk say him get one motion ex parte. But na this same court don refuse one before wey be similar case, and dem tell say all dem parties suppose show face.

Justice Nwite no gree say any application fit pass without all parties hearing the matter. Him talk am clear, “You can not shave somebody’s head in his absence.” Na serious matter to say. Gombe even claim say despite all these wahala wey dey happen, ADC dey carry on as if everything dey alright, making preparations for conventions like nothing dey happen.

This na serious political drama wey dey unfold. Gombe no wan make ADC use their “illegal leadership” run matters as e dey go. As e stand, we go dey watch how this matter go take play out come February.
