Wahala no dey, as Nasarawa State government don talk say dem ready to continue the Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP) wey Federal Government dey run with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to make sure say food dey plenty for state.

According to our source, dis VCDP wahala go end for December 2026, but the state government don they ginger to make sure say everything wey dem don achieve no go waka go like that. Commissioner for Agriculture, Tanko Tunga, burst am for Lafia on Friday during stakeholders meeting wahala, when e promise say dem go do work to institutionalize the VCDP model for the state.

Tunga no dull, as e yan say, “I dey talk without fear o! Our partnership with VCDP dey better, and we go support am make e dey continue after 2026.” E even go as far as to assure all the parties say the VCDP no go just die like that, say e go continue dey grow strong. E also add say Governor Abdullahi Sule dey ready to support programme wey go change the agricultural level for the state.

Tanko no stop there; e also hail the VCDP management for their courage and efforts wey don help the programme work well. E give them kudos for all the steps wey dem don take since the programme start, saying, “You dey do well, and we go continue to back you up as good partners.”

Dr. Eunice Adgidzi, wey be State Programme Coordinator for the VCDP, talk say e dey important make all stakeholders put hand together to drive policies wey go make sure say VCDP dey work for Nasarawa State. E mention say Governor Sule don already start rice farming for Awe and Obi Local Government Areas, so make dem all join body to boost agricultural efforts wey go better life for people, especially for rural areas.

As dem dey talk, e also remember say VCDP don do plenty tings apart from rice and cassava wey dem dey focus on. Dem dey help farmers with financial literacy, address climate change, and also dey work on nutrition and gender issues, wey dey affect everybody.
