My people, e don happen again o! Dangote Refinery just drop the price wey we go fit buy petrol for N699 per litre. Na big relief for we Nigerians wey dey hustle to find money series. This new price take effect from December 12, 2025, and na im mark the 20th time wey Dangote don change petrol price dis year alone!
The people wey sabi market matter don confirm say dis latest slash na N129 drop, which na about 15.58 percent reduction wey everybody dey hail! Wetin dey cause all dis price reduction? Na the ongoing wahala of high energy costs and the full deregulation of the petroleum sector wey dey make life hard for ordinary people like us. Even one big oga wey work for Dangote refinery tell us say: “E be true say we don reduce price to N699, but no official statement dey for now.”
Just five days before dis latest cut, Aliko Dangote, the chairman of the refinery, don talk say e dey serious to ensure say our petrol prices go dey competitive, despite the wahala wey dey happen for global market. Him say they go keep working to reduce price as their production dey increase and dem dey improve their efficiency. He talk say: “Prices dey go down. The reason be say we go dey compete with imported fuel.” Omo, e no easy at all!
As we dey talk now, fresh updates from Petroleumprice.ng don show say some depots don start to reduce price too, as private depots don scatter their rates to join the movement. Sigmund Depot don drop price to N824 per litre, Bulk Strategic don cut their own by N3, while TechnoOil don do Omo Alhaji cut of N15. Na wetin we dey call market competition, abeg!
A no go lie, Nigerians dey jolly for social media about this latest price drop. E be like say hope don dey rise, because for the past months, petrol prices don dey chop our money like say na chop! But some people wey dey sell petrol don dey carry face scatter, because dem dey complain say constant price change go scatter their long-term planning. But for now, many people dey believe say this reduction fit mean say ogbonge relief dey come for us.
But e no stop there, oh! Abi you don hear say Dangote don plan to start direct supply of petrol to registered IPMAN members in January 2026? Na wetin we dey call serious business! As we dey look forward to January, we dey hope say dem go begin sell petrol for N739 per litre, as Dangote don promise say he go make sure say price no go rise above that level.
For the long run, we go dey watch how this new price go affect market. Many Nigerians dey hope say dem go feel the difference at filling stations as they fill their tanks for Christmas and New Year. Na who no wan enjoy better price for festive season? Make we no forget say if dis price drop stick, e fit help to reduce the wahala of inflation wey dey grab our pockets too.
