Roma go face Sassuolo for Serie A Matchday 11 on Saturday, and one result fit put the capital club inside history: if dem avoid defeat, dem go start a Serie A season unbeaten through their first 11 matches for only the third time. Roma don already collect seven wins and three draws for the 2026-2027 campaign, and the Olimpico clash na chance to match runs wey the club get for 2013-2014 and 2003-2004.
Roma no just dey chase record; dem dey come into the match as one of the most dangerous sides for Europe. Dem don score 28 goals in their first 10 Serie A games, a club first, and na the league’s most potent frontline. Opta stats show say Roma remain one of only four unbeaten teams for Europe’s big five leagues this season, alongside Lazio, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Sassuolo, on the other hand, dey struggle. The visitors sit 17th and dem don lose four Serie A games in a row. Dem get the leakiest defence for the league, with 26 goals conceded after 10 matches, the most at this stage in their Serie A history. Sassuolo never keep clean sheet for Serie A this season, and away form dey worse: since beating Udinese 2-1 on 15 February, dem don take three draws and eight defeats from 11 away matches, losing six of their last seven on the road.
History still give Sassuolo small hope. Roma don avoid defeat in 22 of their 24 Serie A meetings with Sassuolo, winning 13 and drawing nine, and dem don win the last four. But Sassuolo only away win at Roma for Serie A come in a 4-3 thriller on 12 March 2023, when Armand Lauriente score twice and set up another goal. That na the exception; overall, Sassuolo get just one win in 12 away trips to Roma.
For individual battle, Roma striker Donyell Malen dey lead the scoring charts across Europe’s big five leagues in 2026 with 22 goals, one clear of Raphinha and Harry Kane, who get 21 each. With Roma scoring for fun and Sassuolo defence leaking goals, the Olimpico match go test whether the leaders can keep their unbeaten run and make club history.
