Di statement come as El-Rufai still dey face different cases. One na ICPC case on corruption allegations and DSS case on allegation say he tap phone of adviser to Nigerian president on security matters.
For one of di cases, court adjourn ruling on El-Rufai request say di accusers no present enough evidence to 26 October 2026. On 24 March, ICPC arraign El-Rufai before Federal Court for Kaduna with Joel Adoga on 10 counts wey concern alleged diversion of money and other offenses about government property. ICPC talk say di case concern about N579.6m and $1.1m, but El-Rufai and im co-defendant deny all di charges. Court grant am bail for April on N200m with some conditions after he spend time in custody.
