Governing Council of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, don approve appointment of Dr Jadesola Babatola as the seventh substantive Registrar and Secretary to Council of the university. The council give the approval at the end of the institution regular meeting. The appointment na for term of five years, and e go take effect from Monday, October 5.
Dr Jadesola Taiwo Babatola come from the notable family of late Chief Dr Joel Babatola, the Olora of Ado-Ekiti, wey be renowned educator and politician during him lifetime. He go Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti for him high school education. He get B.A. (Hons) degree in History from Ondo State University in 1990. The university now be Ekiti State University. He bag M.Sc. degree in Political Science (Public Administration) from University of Ibadan in 1997. He later obtain Ph.D in History and International Studies from Ekiti State University in 2019.
Dr Babatola hold membership of several professional bodies. Dem include Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM); Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA); Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants; Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration; Full Member, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management; Member, Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators; Member, Association of University Administrators (UK); and Associate, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators among others.
He carve niche for himself as historian, public analyst, university administrator, and higher education manager. He get brief stay for private sector before he join services of Ekiti State University as Administrative Officer I in 2001. With extensive career for administrative sectors of Nigerian higher institutions, he serve as Commissioner for Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). He also serve as Global Alumni President of the University in 2007.
Before now, Dr Babatola serve as Registrar and Secretary to Council of National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ondo from 2017 to 2018. He also serve as Registrar and Secretary to Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe Island, Bayelsa State from 2018 to 2021. He serve as Registrar and Secretary to Council of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo from 2021 to 2025. Until this appointment, he be Deputy Registrar for Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.
Dr Babatola marry Chief Mrs Modupe Babatola, and dem get grown-up children. He widely travel as community activist, and he hold honorary chieftaincy titles for different communities.
