Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, don formally inaugurate the Director-General and over 600 members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Campaign Council for Kebbi State. The inauguration ceremony happen yesterday for Birnin Kebbi, and according to statement from Mohammed Bello Doka, Malami special assistant on media, the event na the start of one major phase of political mobilisation and grassroots engagement across the 21 local government areas wey dey make up the state.
Malami, wey be one of the big leaders for ADC, talk say the constitution of the Council no be just ordinary appointment announcement. According to am, na establishment of one coordinated grassroots structure wey go dey work to advance the collective aspirations of all ADC candidates for the state. E say the Council na for everybody, no be for one candidate or one elective position.
The former minister also note say the Council dey deliberately composed to reflect the diversity of Kebbi. E say the Council bring together men and women from different communities, local government areas, senatorial districts and backgrounds. Malami warn members against tribalism, sectionalism and internal rivalry. E stress say the Council must operate as one political family. “This Campaign Council represents our collective ADC campaign. It is not about one candidate or one elective position. From the governorship to the State Assembly,” Malami talk.
