Benue State Police Command don rescue one newborn baby wey dem allegedly steal small time after delivery for one healthcare facility for Gboko. Dem also arrest 11 suspects wey connect with the matter.
The baby don reunite with im mother after dem recover am from where di main suspect keep am. Di Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Peter Aondongu, talk say dem receive report on August 12, 2026.
Di report come from one man wey im name na Aondofa Chia. Im talk say im wife just born for healthcare facility for Gboko, but di newborn don miss. Police begin investigation immediately, and dem catch nine suspects first. Later, dem add two more, so di total na 11.
Di alleged principal suspect na Mrs Nguhemen Asugh, wey be 35 years old. Dem recover di baby from her custody and give am back to di mother. Police still dey investigate wetin really happen and who get hand for di matter.
From di report, di baby born on August 11, 2026. E no cry at first, so one nurse wey dey on duty help am. After dat, one woman wey nobody know come meet di mother. She talk say she be nurse, and she wan check di baby again.
Di mother trust am and give am di baby. Di woman carry di baby go di delivery room. Di grandmother follow am, but di woman tell am make she wait outside. By di time dem check, di baby don vanish. Di hospital staff talk say di woman no be dia worker.
