Traffic for Lagos don become serious wahala today as two separate accidents for Gbagada Expressway don scatter movement for motorists. The crashes wey happen at different points along the busy road involve trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, wey cause heavy build-up for commuters.
One of the accidents involve two major trucks, while another one near Charlie Boy involve two trailers and five other vehicles. The wahala prompt officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to quickly deploy tow trucks and forklift to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
At the first crash scene, one truck don already remove from road as at the time of filing this report, while dem dey still work hard to evacuate the second vehicle. Speaking at the scene, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, say the agency don dey work since 5 o’clock in the morning to clear the affected sections of the expressway.
According to am, “As you can see, the major one here, all efforts is on ground to remove it. The first one has been removed about 45 minutes ago.” Bakare-Oki also explain say LASTMA don deploy forklift and two heavy-duty tow trucks, and dem dey arrange another crane to finish the recovery operation.
For the second accident near Charlie Boy, the LASTMA boss say all the five vehicles wey involve don evacuate, while one tow truck dey work to remove the two trailers wey still dey block the road. E say, “There is another accident at the back by Charlie Boy involving two trailers and five vehicles. All five vehicles have been evacuated. A tow truck is at that spot too, about to remove the two trailers that are involved in the secondary accident.”
Motorists for the area no get choice but to dey navigate slow-moving traffic as LASTMA personnel continue recovery operations for the two accident locations. The agency say dem go put all hands on deck to ensure say all the vehicles wey involve for the crashes go remove, so that normal traffic fit flow again.
