Moses Itauma, 21 years old, na one of the most exciting prospects for heavyweight division. E dey headline at O2 Arena against Filip Hrgovic next month. Karol talk say e believe Moses fit bring world title to Chatham. ‘My brother na special individual,’ Karol tell Press Association. ‘He don match God-given ability with hard work. I think e go be world champion within couple fights.’
Karol win gold for Great Britain at 2018 Youth Olympics. Him career dey look bright. But six months after him 12th win, e suffer heart attack. Even though e fight one more time, e don now put all energy into Club Eight Three. The club dey located at Chatham Maritime. E go provide services wey elite athletes dey use, like advanced training, recovery therapies, and premium hospitality.
The co-founders include professional boxer Frankie Wood and Ipswich forward Anis Mehmeti. Karol explain say: ‘Club Eight Three drives the whole ecosystem of health cafe, on-site private nurse wey fit give IV drip or do blood test, then cryotherapy or hyperbaric oxygen chambers. All these services wey only elite athletes use, now dey available for every-day person wey take health and wellness seriously.’
Karol talk about why dem choose Chatham for the first club. ‘When we first come England for 2007, Chatham na where we grow up. We dey give back to community wey shape us. We dey create service wey no dey available locally before.’ The Itauma brothers get plans to open second Club Eight Three for another location and also create facility for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EMB). Karol say: ‘Club Eight Three na just the beginning.’
