2 Zamfara Assembly passes Child ProtectThe Zamfara House of Assembly has passed the State Child Protection Bill and commended development partners for their support towards the success of the bill.
4 Presenting the report before the House, the Chairman, House Joint Committee on Women, Children Affairs and Judiciary, Kabir Kwatarkwashi (APC, Bungudu East) urged members of the House to accept the report on the bill and deliberate on it.
5 According to him, the bill was considered and passed after the 3rd reading, having undergone various legislative processes by the Assembly.
7 After deliberations by members of the house, they unanimously affirmed the report and agreed for the bill to scale third reading.
9 Magarya directed the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Sa’idu Anka to take necessary action on the bill.
10 “Now, the Zamfara Child Protection Bill has been passed by the House and will soon be sent to the Executive Governor for his assent.
11 “As representatives of the people, we are responsible for providing laws for good governance in the state.
12 “We appreciate partners, especially the UNICEF, the Save the Children International, as well as the Office of the Governor’s wife, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle for their immense contributions in passing the bill,” the speaker added.
14 The speaker commended the committee and called on all the revenue generating agencies in the state to redouble their efforts, adding that the House was determined to ensure improvement of the state’s IGR.
15 Magarya further said that the assembly was committed to ensuring that all revenues generated in the state were in conformity with the provisions for remittance to the government account.
