Saving the Lives of the Occupants

A yacht fire in Biscayne Bay resulted in the rescue of three people. The incident happened near the Coral Gables Waterway on a Saturday. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the report of a boat fire around noon. The Coral Gables Police Department’s Marine Patrol Unit received the call and informed MDFR that a 54-foot vessel was on fire.

Efforts of the Firefighters

Upon receiving the call, MDFR crews were dispatched to the location of the fire. Using the master stream nozzle mounted on the fire boat, they were able to subdue the main body of the fire. Miami Fire Rescue also joined in the efforts and used foam to control the fire. Coral Gables Police removed the occupants with safety.

The Rescue Operation

As Coral Gables Police approached the yacht, it burst into flames. However, every occupant was rescued safely and transferred onto the patrol boat. Authorities have not confirmed if anyone was hurt as a result of the fire.

Investigation Begins

The cause of the yacht fire in Biscayne Bay is under investigation. The authorities will look into potential factors that may have caused the incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
