The Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Abuja Chapter, on Saturday donated clothing materials, toiletries, food items and drinks to four Orphanage Homes in the FCT in the spirit of the Christmas celebration.
The homes include Saint Fabian Orphanage home, Life Camp, Hope for Survival Orphanage home, Gishiri, Destined Children Orphanage, Kado Estate and Queen Esther Orphanage Kabusa.
Mrs Taiwo Ojo, Chairperson of the chapter, made the donation at the end of the year party organised by the society for the children.
Ojo said that the gesture is part of the organisation’s effort at extended love to the less privilege in the society.
She added that the event was organised in collaboration with Tomaville Event Centre.
“This is not the first time we are celebrating Christmas with orphans, however, this is the first time we are bringing different orphanage homes in one hall to celebrate.
“We will continue to show our support because these children deserve to be loved,”she said.
Responding on behalf of the orphanage homes, Master Vincent Victor, thanked the association for the gesture.
“We appreciate what your members have done for us and for celebrating this season with us,” he said.
Nigeria News Agency reports that the event featured choreography presentations by the children and presentation of gifts by Santa Claus.
