What is Going on with the Nigeria Election Three Days After Polling?

On February 25, millions of Nigerians from across the 36 states and the federal capital, Abuja, took part in a crucial election to elect a president and lawmakers of the two houses of the National Assembly.

Three days since the polls closed, however, the results have yet to be announced and it is unclear when they will be revealed.

Al Jazeera observed that of the 176,846 polling units nationwide, only 46% had been uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) portal, with INEC announcing results from only 14 states.
There have been reports of voter suppression, intimidation, and potential rigging in some regions.
The shared election day also included the granting of 109 senatorial seats and 360 seats in the bicameral federal legislature.
In addition, on March 11, 28 of the 36 states will be having their own governorship and state parliament elections.
How these elections will actually work still remains to be seen.
There have too been worrying trends of violence and unrest in past Nigerian elections, though its gravity differs.
Who then is currently leading the race?
This is yet another concern Nigerians hope will soon be obviously answered.
