Wahala Dey as Building Collapse Dem Catch People for Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria – Early Monday morning, as hustle and bustle dey happen, wahala burst for Oyingbo area when one two-storey building just decide say e don tired of life and collapse like say na Cardboard. This serious matter happen around 12:20 a.m. after the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service catch scent of the drama.

Margaret Adeseye, wey be the boss for the fire service, don confirm say dem receive distress call and immediately dispatch team from Sari-Iganmu Fire Station. You sabi how Lagos sabi do am – no time to waste, na wetin dem talk so!

As at the time we dey report this wahala, 15 people don already rescue – seven men, four women, and four children don get varying degrees of injuries. Dem don carry dem go Federal Medical Centre for Ebute-Metta and General Hospital, Odan for Lagos Island. E no good like this o! (I mean, who wan chop rescue news on top breakfast?)

Eyewitness say this particular building no be new business; e don show signs of distress before dem people dey enter am. Like say na magic, e just crumble while people still dey inside. No matter how you look am, na serious matter we dey handle here.

Rescue efforts dey go on as we dey talk, no be small fire dem dey burn. Building collapse for Lagos don turn like New Year celebration – frequent and everyone dey fear sometimes in the middle of the night. Dis kind matter na usually because of weak enforcement of building regulations, cheap materials, and ‘no be my business’ attitude from inspections. Make we no forget the big one wey happen for Ikoyi area back in November 2021 wey take the lives of 42 people. Na serious level this matter dey!

Even last month for September 2025, another building wey dem dey construct for Yaba just decide say it wan be the ‘next big collapse’ and e follow suit too, wahala dey ground! Yet, dem still dey build like say na dem life dem dey play with. (Nigerians, wetin we go do?)

This na reminder for all of us say we need to take safety serious. No just enter anywhere because you wan save small cash, e fit cost you plenty more. And who go carry your pounded yam, if you no dey to chop? I no fit even imagine how dem go manage carry the families of dem wey don get injury plus dem wey don die. Nigeria, we need better!
