Vietnam reports 358 new cases of COVID-19-

Vietnam registered 358 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, down 69 from Saturday, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.

All new cases were transmitted locally, the ministry said.


The new infections brought the total count to 11,514,532. The country reported no new deaths from the pandemic on Sunday, with the total death toll standing at 43,170.


As of Sunday, 50 serious cases required assisted breathing in the Southeast Asian country, according to the ministry.

Nationwide, 10,608,112 COVID-19 patients, or more than 92 percent of all infections, have recovered.

Nearly 264.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country, including about 222.8 million injections in people aged 18 and over, the ministry said.

Vietnam has already registered COVID-19 infections with the Omicron BA.4, BA.5, BA.2.12.1 and BA.2.74 subvariants and is accelerating the inoculation of its population with a fourth dose of vaccine. ■
